I sure am doing stuff
upcoming events and other updates
This week I am (hopefully [probably]) wrapping up production on Welcome to the Forest 2 Electric Boogaloo. Working title.
Just kidding, it’s Welcome to the Forest: The Lake Trip!

Pray for me as my eyes bleed from all the digital color correcting and excess of caffeine. I don’t know if caffeine-induced psychosis causes ocular distress but we can’t quit now. Anyway, as soon as my files are sent in, I am off to board a grimy bus and whisk myself away to The Big City.
I’m honored by an invitation to panel at Books of Wonder. This place is probably my favorite bookstore ever, not least because it specializes in children’s books, so I don’t have to pretend to care about any other lesser sections. They also have an incredible selection of vintage and antique books and original artwork from the likes of Maurice Sendak and other greats. Plus all the classic Wizard of OZ you could want.
Next weekend, I’ll be heading up to Maine for Kids Con New England. After a year of ups and downs with events, I’m looking forward to going to a show that caters directly to my chosen audience. Getting to interact directly with kids who are excited about art and stories is my favorite part of the job. Second only to painting weird little guys and trees.
In addition to tabling at Kids Con I’ll be running a short panel on drawing characters. If you are in Maine and need something to do with your kids, definitly stop by the Double Tree and say hi.
After this traveling is done and my book’s turned in, I will be taking a two day long nap. But after that, I will be working on some new projects that I am excited about.
Some stuff I’ve been into recently
I’m late to the party on this, but I am obsessed with Technology Connections. He improved my dishwashing experience by 1million percent. I’m also really stoked that he’s collaborated with the Green brothers at the Good Store to develop a dishwasher powder.
The Good Store sells stuff, and all the profits go to charities. Last year, they added a line of environmentally friendly cleaning products called Eco Geek, with the profits going to the Coral Reef Alliance. So I’ve been stocked up on Green Llama’s dishwasher pods all year. And right when I heard Technology Connections dishwashing powder gospel and was wringing my hands over whether or not I should switch, it turns out they’ve got me covered! I was practically giddy to find out that two of my favorite internet nerds combined their powers to make dishwashing powder.
It just really makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside to know that 15 years since I first became a fan, John and Hank Green are still doing good stuff for the world.
I’m also rewatching Gilmore Girls for the second time. If anyone can recommend a Gilmore Girls podcast, pls leave it in the comments.
Finally, Last Dinner Party’s new album, From the Pyre, makes me cry.
Thank you for reading love you bye xoxo
